Pomona Valley Mining Company Wedding Photography

Greetings,

Last Saturday Lawrence and I photographed a delightful couple's wedding. We took Derek and Sharon's engagement pictures at Downtown Disney a while ago.

Sharon and Derek are totally cool peeps! They volunteered to be subjects for our wedding photography workshop hosted a while back. Although that workshop had many hiccups, we were able to meet new people and build new relationships. From that wedding photography workshop, we brought along a friend - Adrienne - who helped us photograph this wedding. In any event, Sharon started her day at the Pacific Palms Resort where lots of girls rushed to get ready.

Although I took better looking pictures of the wedding bands, I liked this one the most simply because of the words written on the box: DO NOT LOSE! HAHA that cracked me up!

Since we were short on time, we decided to just go straight to their reception hall at the Pomona Valley Mining Company (Los Angeles) to conduct a quick private session. This venue overlooks the 10 freeway in Pomona.

This is something new that we are trying - light painting combined with wedding photography! There is no other wedding photographer that I know of that does this, so hopefully this will start a trend! We did not quite perfect it on this first trial, but we should have it nailed down for future ones. I intend to put up a full video tutorial in the future that instructs everything that needs to be done. Thanks Adrienne for helping us with this! ZAP!

Please check back soon because we have like five more posts we need to put up. Additionally, we are in the process of changing blogs, so check back soon!

Peace,

Seven Degrees Engagement Party

Hi hi,

I previously posted about an engagement session in Laguna Niguel with Nas and Gartzen. Following this couple's engagement session, we drove to Seven Degrees where they hosted their engagement party. Seven Degrees is a beautiful location with lots of wicked lighting.

Laguna Niguel Engagement Photographers

Hi,

Julie and I had the opportunity to photograph a cool engagement session at Laguna Niguel with Nas and Gartzen. We had a relaxing time just enjoying the scenery and taking casual pictures at random locations in Laguna Beach. Orange County (OC) has loads of neat places to visit.

The following images was taken on a patch of grass near the coastline of Laguna Niguel.

Nas wore some really cool shoes during this engagement session!

This sign originally said "Bank of America Customers Only," but I decided to alter it to their names instead.

While looking for a spot that overlooks Laguna Beach, we stumbled across this nice banister that has a nice message. Wanting to give more attention to the text, I decided to keep the image a silhouette.

Directly following this engagement session, we drove to Seven Degrees where Nas and Gartzen hosted their beautiful engagement party! That place is known for their gorgeous lighting.

Respectfully,

NYU Fashion Model

Hi again,

It was a rather busy weekend for the Furious Photographers team. I took a red-eye plane trip to New York on Thursday and arrive Friday morning. I had lunch with my god sister and then photographed the NYU Fashion show that same evening. After a few hours of rest, I had a private modeling session with Nia (one of NYU's fashion models). While I was in New York, Lawrence photographed a lovely couple's engagement session and engagement party at 7 Degrees in Laguna Beach, which is an absolutely beautiful place!

Anyway, Nia is a saucy girl with a unique flair. I am sure that you can see simply by how she dresses. I gave her full liberty to do what she wanted because I was exhausted from the previous night. I only obliged by clicking away for an hour or something.

Lawrence should have his post up soon. He is currently swamped with work because he is always trying to create new ways to expand our services. :) Stay tuned because we are about to unveil some rad stuff!

Best regards,

NYU Fashion Show

Hi all,

Over the weekend, I was flown out to New York to photograph NYU's (New York University) annual fashion show. Like always, it was a blast! Aside from good eats, nice people, and historical architecture, I got to meet up with some old friends and relatives who reside in New York.

ACE (organization that organized the event) brought in loads of sponsors with Vera Wang as my favorite! They had a collection of gorgeous wedding dresses. Please enjoy!

UCI University Club Wedding Photography

Hello,

On Friday, I photographed a stellar wedding hosted at the UCI University Club in Irvine, California. I was the second shooter for Steve Hoffmann. As much as I would have loved to photograph the preparation of the beautiful bride (Tam) and bridesmaids, I had the opportunity to work with Paul and his awesome rock star groomsmen!

This is Paul with his awesome hair straightener, "I don't feel so bad using this because I know someone (Jacob) downstairs is using one too haha!"

Since the men looked so dapper in their snazzy tuxes, I decided to do some grungy-manly pictures with them. So perfect! Five doors for five men.

My original idea was tainted by a curious hand (following image)

The lush green ceremony was complemented with the golden sunset. We have the beautiful Cindy (UCI University Club coordinator) to thank for setting everything up! Something cool happened during the ceremony. Since we were on UCI's campus, I saw numerous students walk by with backpacks gawking at their heartfelt wedding.

Such rapture...

It was ended with a graceful dip. :)

Tam started off the party with some wicked styles [dancing to Smooth Criminal by Michael Jackson]!

Weddings are so beautiful. God, I love my job!

UCLA Engagement Photography

Howdy,

Doug and I had the chance to work with a neat couple with fresh perspectives of what they wanted for their engagement photographs. Since Liang (the snazzy groom-to-be) graduated from UCLA and Dee (the sassy bride-to-be) is doing her PhD at UCLA, they decided to conduct their engagement session at UCLA and Santa Monica Pier. Since I graduated from North Campus, Dee and Liang showed me a lot of cool places in South Campus that I never knew! One example would be the rooftop of Boelter Hall! Anyway, enjoy the images!

"I have always wanted to sit on the bear..." chided Liang, so I clasped my hands together to give Liang a boost up the bear!

ucla engagement photography

This is one of my favorite images. It has a very nostalgic feel to the image because of the lined desks in the classroom. I especially love the light that poured in through the blinds. Absolutely delightful!

ucla engagement photography

For those who are not familiar with UCLA, this is called the "Inverted Fountain" because (hopefully the name gives it away) the fountain is inverted.

ucla engagement photography

We had Liang jump off the stairs of Powell Library.

ucla engagement photography

Then vice versa...

ucla engagement photography

"Piggy back rides are too played out, it's all about the wheelbarrow," claimed Liang. What started as a wheelbarrow became a "walking-my-dog" type of activity - definitely unorthodox.

ucla engagement photography

What a cute dog! It looks like a stuffed animal!

Greek Gods...

And here are some Santa Monica Beach randomness...

It was a nippy morning, but we made due with the weather. The sun peeped out here and there, so we had moments of warmth. Their wedding should be awesome, so stay tuned for more posts.

Sincerely,

Lawrence

KaBOOM Santa Ana

Greetings,

What a busy weekend! On Saturday, KaBOOM! gave me another opportunity to photograph the launching of their Santa Ana playground. The first playground for Southern California was in Los Angeles where I met Xzibit! Nevertheless, the Santa Ana playground was just as fun!

I love these charity events because there are so many people gathered for a single cause. Again, the goal of these playgrounds is to invite kids to play and learn about friendship. Aside from physical development (through motor skills), kids get to learn about sportsmanship and make new friends!

They used 20,000 pounds of wood chips and 20,000 pounds of cement - wow!

Overall, it was a blast working with the volunteers. I put down my cameras at times to help move some heavier items. This time I came prepared - I brought sunblock! I am still peeling from last time's event.

Kind regards,

Doug
