Pomona Valley Mining Company Wedding Photography

Greetings,

Last Saturday Lawrence and I photographed a delightful couple's wedding. We took Derek and Sharon's engagement pictures at Downtown Disney a while ago.

Sharon and Derek are totally cool peeps! They volunteered to be subjects for our wedding photography workshop hosted a while back. Although that workshop had many hiccups, we were able to meet new people and build new relationships. From that wedding photography workshop, we brought along a friend - Adrienne - who helped us photograph this wedding. In any event, Sharon started her day at the Pacific Palms Resort where lots of girls rushed to get ready.

Although I took better looking pictures of the wedding bands, I liked this one the most simply because of the words written on the box: DO NOT LOSE! HAHA that cracked me up!

Derek had something on his back that needed to be brushed off...

Since we were short on time, we decided to just go straight to their reception hall at the Pomona Valley Mining Company (Los Angeles) to conduct a quick private session. This venue overlooks the 10 freeway in Pomona.

This is something new that we are trying - light painting combined with wedding photography! There is no other wedding photographer that I know of that does this, so hopefully this will start a trend! We did not quite perfect it on this first trial, but we should have it nailed down for future ones. I intend to put up a full video tutorial in the future that instructs everything that needs to be done. Thanks Adrienne for helping us with this! ZAP!

Please check back soon because we have like five more posts we need to put up. Additionally, we are in the process of changing blogs, so check back soon!

Peace,

Doug

Rancho Cucamonga Wedding Photography

Greetings,

Unfortunately, the graphically manipulated image will not be posted now. Doug will make that post later on. What I would like to share now are some portrait pictures of a beautiful bride - Kim Scott. She looked so gorgeous in the afternoon light that I had to make it a priority to share. I will get some of her wedding photographs up when the opportunity allows.

This picture looks as if it was pulled from a CD cover =)

Tea Ceremony Wedding Photography

Tea Ceremony Wedding Photography
Ocean Star Seafood
Monterey Park

The Furious Photographers had the privilege of photographing Alice and Sean's Asian tea ceremony style wedding. For those unaware of the tradition, the groom must bribe the bridesmaids for entry to the sequestered bride's room. After entry, the bride and groom will offer tea to respected members of family and friends in exchange for their well wishes.

Their lovely wedding rings!

City Club Wedding Photography

Janica and Marc Wedding Photography
Downtown Los Angeles
Walt Disney Concert Hall
City Club on Bunker Hill

Janica and Marc (and their entourage) love to be in front of the camera. The entire day, they constantly checked with me, "so how many pictures did we take so far?" When we reached over the the 4,000 mark, they were like "yesss, right on." Overall, their crude humor and knee-slapping laughs made the hours pass too quickly. It was a blast working with this wedding party!

The following are some of their countless wedding photographs that we took during the day. We visited UCLA, the Disney Concert Hall and the Wells Fargo Building where they held their reception on the penthouse floor (54th) called "Bunker Hill." From up above, cars looked like ants.

Additionally, this couple can not part from their "stunna shades." In the limo, Marc exclaimed, "I don't care what we listen to, I just need some gangasta sh#t on! Guys! I'm getting married and all of ya'll are going to party!!!"

Although we were invited to drink Petron with them for breakfast, we must decline.

Their song - Check it out:

By the way, congratulations on your acceptance to UCLA Medical School, Marc! Now we will be neighbors haha

Orthodox Jewish Wedding

The Furious Photographers had a totally rad time photographing an Orthodox Jewish Wedding. What made it cooler was that it was a military wedding as well. The handsome officers all drew swords during the wedding ceremony to make an archway. It was wicked!

It was actually our first time to witness this type of religious ceremony. There are a number of rules that make an Orthodox Jewish Wedding different from a regular Jewish Wedding. Overall it was a fantastic experience.

Some love during the bride's preparation

Bernice and Chris Wedding Photography
Ritz Carlton Pasadena

Bernice is such a beautiful and happy bride! Nothing can affect her good attitude. In fact, her positive aura even radiates and influences everyone around her. The same goes equal for her husband, Chris. The two of them make the perfect marriage.

We did their wedding photography in Los Angeles, California. The bride started her beautiful day with birds chirping and delicious snacks at the Ritz Carlton Suites. The talented Joyce Luck did Bernice's hair and make-up.

Arboretum / Bonaventure Wedding Photography

Taylin & Quan
Aboretum
Bonaventure

We had the privilege of providing Taylin & Quan wedding photography services in the lovely city of Los Angeles. This quirky couple started their day with a Chinese "door entry game," where the groom must coax the bridesmaids to allow him to enter the room to pick up his beautiful bride. He usually has to do a variety of tasks to prove his love for her. In this situation, Quan and his entourage had to sing and cajole the girls with red envelopes (containing money).

Once Quan succeeded, everyone proceeded to the Chinese tea ceremony. To pay respect to the family members, the couple would present tea in exchange for their well-wishes.

Following the tea ceremony, the wedding party went to the scenic Aboretum in Arcadia. Fortunately, in most cases, and unfortunately, Los Angeles is known for its constant sun. The scorching rays and lack of cool airflow in the limo created a lot of drowsy faces.

los angeles wedding photography

Despite the heat and uneven lighting conditions, our largest challenge was working with the videographers. Throughout the day, the three of them would constantly either get in our view or interject while we are trying to facilitate a pose. In the end, we did not even get a chance for a private session for the two at the Los Angeles Aboretum because the videographers were not cooperative, but we were still able to capture some randomly cool moments.

Following the Aboretum, the couple hosted their reception at Los Angeles Bonaventure in Downtown LA.

After a long day's work, nothing quenches a hungry photographer's growling stomach better than JJ Cafe midnight dinner specials. Their affordable food and quick service make the perfect marriage. I [and Los Angeles Times] recommend this restaurant without reserve to anyone in search for good food. =) All in all, it was an enjoyable day where we got to meet a lot of cool people.
