UCI University Club Wedding Photography

Hello,

On Friday, I photographed a stellar wedding hosted at the UCI University Club in Irvine, California. I was the second shooter for Steve Hoffmann. As much as I would have loved to photograph the preparation of the beautiful bride (Tam) and bridesmaids, I had the opportunity to work with Paul and his awesome rock star groomsmen!

This is Paul with his awesome hair straightener, "I don't feel so bad using this because I know someone (Jacob) downstairs is using one too haha!"

uci university club wedding

Since the men looked so dapper in their snazzy tuxes, I decided to do some grungy-manly pictures with them. So perfect! Five doors for five men.

uci university club wedding

My original idea was tainted by a curious hand (following image)

The lush green ceremony was complemented with the golden sunset. We have the beautiful Cindy (UCI University Club coordinator) to thank for setting everything up! Something cool happened during the ceremony. Since we were on UCI's campus, I saw numerous students walk by with backpacks gawking at their heartfelt wedding.

Such rapture...

Inside the UCI University Club reception hall, Tam and Paul shared their first dance.

It was ended with a graceful dip. :)

Tam started off the party with some wicked styles [dancing to Smooth Criminal by Michael Jackson]!

And the rest was history...

Weddings are so beautiful. God, I love my job!

Rock on!

UCLA Wedding Photography

Hello viewers and fellow Bruins,

It was a good day to be a Bruin on March 15, 2008. UCLA just beat Stanford in Men's Basketball (67-64) and Angie (the lovely bride) just married Cheston (the charming groom) both on the same night. Both being UCLA alumni, we were thrilled to photograph their wedding, which had a UCLA theme.

Weeks before the wedding, Cheston inquired into UCLA's Cheer Squad for "the bears" to come during the reception. Unfortunately, the department did not respond until minutes before the ceremony. As excited as Cheston was about the wedding, he was twice as excited when he received a text message saying, "the bear is coming."

Needless to say, the Bruin (UCLA's mascot) joined them during the reception, which was a happy surprise for Angie. This is definitely a cool idea for those thinking about having a UCLA themed wedding :D

Instead of doing the conventional "V" finger pose, they taught me a new one, which is "WOW." Essentially, you use your middle three fingers from both hands and place them next to your mouth agape. It was an interesting concept haha

ucla wedding photography

Cheston enjoys drawing. He draws on Angie's FaceBook wall religiously everyday. Meet his wedding party:

Alas, it was a cold and windy day. Nevertheless, these two braved the elements.

ucla wedding photography

ucla wedding photography

Another note about Cheston, he really loves his stoic grandpa poses. Traditional Chinese members (especially the male), will take pictures without smiles or expressions at all. We decided to mimic the feel of it by turning it sepia and adding some grain.

ucla wedding photography

Isn't that awesome? Custom made by one of the groomsmen.

ucla wedding photography

This was our cool guest book! Since Doug and I had such a blast working with Angie and Cheston during their engagement session also hosted at UCLA, we thought that they would enjoy something like this.

ucla wedding photography

The BEAR! :D

ucla wedding photography

ucla wedding photography

I loved that bear. The Bruin got everyone dancing by being first to work the dance floor. However, I know a secret about this Bruin - it was really a girl! *gasps*

Cheers,

Lawrence

Hyatt Regency Wedding Photography

Hello all,

As promised, I am happy to finally unveil our super cool graphically manipulated picture of the groom! All props are due to Doug's extensive efforts to create a Matrix poster replica. To celebrate and observe Sarika's (beautiful bride) culture, James, the handsome groom, donned a traditional Indian wedding / ceremony outfit. Since the Indian outfit reminded him of Neo from Matrix the movie, he decided to bring along some wicked shades to complement his clothing.

The left image is the original image prior to edit. It was photographed in a completely dark room with only his face gently lit by a flashlight. I put the original picture in juxtaposition to the final image to show you the work that was done in order to achieve the final effect.

hyatt regency wedding photography

We were so thrilled with the result that we had the picture of James (groom) printed in a large metallic poster, which will make it shimmer like a hologram! =) Anyway, Sarika and James' wedding was held at the beautiful Hyatt Regency Hotel in Orange County.

Sarika's beautiful dress hung in a bar at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. I absolutely love the lighting!

indian wedding photography

Some detail photographs of the bride's hands. From my understanding of Indian weddings, before the actual wedding ceremony the bride will have her hands and legs drawn on with some form of semi-permanent henna ink. It lasts for four to six weeks. I sincerely admire the artistic workmanship!

Here is Sarika, the chic bride, getting her make-up done.

While the bride was getting ready, Doug accompanied the groom while he worked out in the gym.

This was Doug's first attempt at the Matrix recreation, but the uncontrolled lighting did not suit his vision for the final poster.

Here is a quick snap of the wedding ceremony.

Before sunset, we went outside of the Hyatt Regency Hotel and took a few pictures with the water fountain as the backdrop.

Unfortunately, the next two images will not do the reception justice. The wedding reception was back to back with performances and dancing! If I were to post every image, this blog will take too long to load.

Anaheim Crowne Wedding Photography

Ashley and Andy
Downtown Disney
Anaheim Crowne Wedding Photography

The zesty wedding couple - Ashley and Andy - are USC fanatics. Since the entire Furious Photographers team consists of UCLA alumnus, it was weird to be in a house that had a USC flag, floor mat, blankets, etc. everywhere.

Ashley and Andy had a traditional tea ceremony wedding. This consisted of respectful offering of tea to their relatives in exchange for their blessings.

anaheim crowne wedding photographer

Aside from blessings and well-wishes, they also received gifts - Ashley and Andy displaying their "bling." :D

The wedding party decided to take some wedding pictures at Downtown Disney. As much as they wanted to take wedding photographs, many of them were glued to the big screen television at ESPN Zone because the USC football game was playing. Everyone decided for a quick and painless photo session.

Corona Del Mar - Crystal Cove Beach

We are very grateful to have had the opportunity to photograph Binh and Mako's lovely beach wedding. They had their wedding ceremony on the beautiful Crystal Cove beach in Corona Del Mar (Orange County). Before you leave our blog, be sure to check out their cool wedding site: http://www.binhandmako.com. Mako is a really good flash programmer.

The two of them got ready at the Radisson Hotel.

Electra Cruise - Newport Beach

Furious Photographers had the opportunity to photograph Binh and Jim's wedding on a lovely afternoon in Newport Beach. The wedding was hosted on an Electra Cruise specifically called the "Athena."

The yacht was filled with life and happiness. We sailed out to the Pacific Ocean promptly at 6PM where Binh and Jim tied the knot. Below are a number of wedding photographs captured on the Athena.

A clever use of our environment? *nudge nudge*

We like to live life on the edge - or ledge. Despite the danger, Doug boldly accepts the task. Whatever it takes to get the shot, Furious Photographers will bend over backwards to do it. =)

Beers all around! Everyone had a beer in his or her hand at all times! As a result, everyone was really relaxed and having a ball - how a wedding should be.

We offered wedding photography coverage on that beautiful Saturday. While the guys were drinking and playing poker, the gals were at the MAC Studio getting ready. Everyone ultimately met at the Ebell Club in Long Beach, Orange County. The Ebell Club is a lovely location for a wedding!
